Just a little pat-on-the-back post to myself. I spent a grueling week in a Rapid Track class and finally today took a nightmarish test to earn the title “Certified Engineer” in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. Yay me..

Since I seem to be on the topic of religion, I’ll throw this TED Talk out there. One of my favorites. TED has a wonderful breadth and diversity in its talks. Everything from the soul inspiring talk on creativity that was shown a few posts ago. To this awe inspiring journey of pure logic and truth that Richard Dawkins eloquently presents.

For the second holiday in a row my delicate sensibilities were assaulted by a co-worker forcing well wishes of their narrow belief system upon me via SMS. All is fair in love and religion, so I SMS’d back to her, “May the Goddess Eostre bring a fresh and fertile outlook to mind, body and soul. Blessed be…”
Not that I’m particularly a follower of the Pagan Sabbaths, per se, but at least they present a truly open, honest and loving celebratory nature without heaping on racism, sexism, and overall hatred like every other religion does.
So that said, here for the second blogging year, thanks to my co-worker, is my post to Eostre, Goddess of the wonderful possibilities that are available in us all to refresh and renew mind, body, and spirit…

(Artwork by the very talented LustAndDevotion on deviantART.
This is actually Brigid for Imbolc by LustAndDevotion, but I
felt this captured the feeling of Eostre more for me…)

The tagline for TED is “Ideas worth spreading”. T.E.D. stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. More importantly, its a conference where people with brilliant, thought-provoking ideas come together to share them with other brilliant people - and the world.
TED has started releasing their conference talks on the Internet. It’s like that rare, once-in-a-lifetime conversation you have with that stranger at a bus stop. Times a thousand. I think I’m going to start posting a talk here and there when one truly inspires me. There are many to choose from, all amazing. With no particular significance, I present this one as the first.

No… not the loud kind with the drummers and the screaming fans ripping off their bras and throwing them at the band. This rock show was the kind you stumble across on a lazy Saturday afternoon with nothing better to do. Nothing to throw my brassiere at.
I did however purchase this, which is not a fossil:

And these, which are fossils:
